What is a Mother?

            A mother is someone to shelter and guide us, love us in whatever we do with a warm understanding, infinite patience and wonderful greatness. Mothers watch over their children and treasure them all through the years. The heart of a mother is full of forgiveness for any mistake, big or small, and always generous in helping her family. A mother can utter a word of compassion and make all our cares fall away. She brightens a home with the sound of her laughter and make life feel so delightful. A mother possesses incredible wisdom, insight, and skill. In each human heart is that one special corner which only a mother can fill.

            Every day of our lives we should thank God for our mothers. They are truly women who love their families unconditionally. Jesus loved his mother unconditionally. He loved his mother so much that he arranged for her care before his death. John 19:26-27 says, “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.” Everyone has had a time in their lives where your mother got on your absolute last nerves or you feel that she is just so nosey always in your business. Well at the end of the day your mother is always going to be in your corner no matter what. You may not appreciate them and their ways now, but it’s when you get older when you realize why they did things the way they did it and why. Your mother turns into your best friend. Exodus 20:12 says, “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mothers in the world!
